How come the BMW dealership Hunter equipment and the Kwik-Fit Hunter equipment gave 2 totally different figures when i visited both today within 2 miles? Hunter seems like a con to make an awful lot of money from the public!!

What about steer ahead and holding the steering wheel in a certain position? How do you set those up? Shouldn't you just set your wheel at 0° and if your toe is in spec, you are good despite what Steer Ahead shows?

Uhh I don't think your video depicts Toe correctly. Toe changes the direction that the tires would travel. Think about beginner snow skiing. Make a wedge or a pizza shape. Or top view of the tires; ! ! or \ / or / \

I bought an old Coates tire balancer a few months ago and watching about this fancy technology makes me feel bad about my purchase. 😂 ...it's worked for most wheels but on a few I just can't get rid of the vibration. But I bet a proper road force balanced would fix it right up. At least the old balancer I got was under a grand! I guess I'll have to rely on tire shops for force balancing since I'd sooner buy a new car than spend ten grand on one of these beauties lol.

Is there a need to reset the electronic stability control after wheel alignment of 2012 model onwards even if no stability control light showing indash?
I think you mean a reset of the steering angle sensor and yes it needs to be reset after an alighnment. That calibrates the stability control as well as other safty systems in your ride. Look at it this way, if your wheels are out of alignment and it's corrected without the steering angle sensor reset, the car has a hard time bringing you out of a skid because it thinks the wheels are at a slightly different angle.

My tire guy said he aligned my car on hunter machine. It took 6 min. Is this possible? He said it was off and he adjusted it. Sounds like Bs
Most places will check if your car is within spec, then probably adjust the toe because it's quick and easy. But that won't cure any wandering, which needs cross caster (less caster on drivers side). Quick and easy is less work, so you need the print out of before and after values to know a bit more.
If he already had readings and you said go , it is very possible , Alignment Tech 30 years .
I got my car aligned at dealers but my rear thrust was -0.2 still causing problems, I don’t feel like going back to them

Why do you have these razor blades on a chalkboard sound throughout your video? It went from great to horrible...
Ensure you always keep your vehicle within line of sight and ensure the tech sees you looking. Some techs have no moral compass what-so-ever and will adjust the alignment tools without making changes to the vehicle (moving laser readers on wheels) or tapping on suspension to force positive readings. I know so I have witnessed it personally during my career
Try Kwik fit, they'll make every excuse under the sun as to why they can't align your car despite you making the booking... Then you find out later that the guy doesn't know how to use the machine!
that's not a good idea. make them dislike you very fast just saying that'll get you called a window licker pretty quick, if you can't trust the garage you go to find another garage it's that simple you need to be able to trust them your life is literally in their hands if they don't tighten bolts down.
Be aware, turn volume down if you cherish your ears
Good video but with only one issue. 2:08 you are saying Caster can cause handling issues and tire wear. That is incorrect. Caster is a non tire wearing angle, but will greatly effect vehicle handling. Camber and Toe on the other hand would cause tire wear.

Good video. One thing that I can't seem to find anywhere is the the exact degrees or minutes that makes a car out of tolerance. For example, since 0° tow is ideal then how many degrees +/- is still acceptably passing? +/- 0.2°? +/- 0.5°? +/- 2.0°? where about does the industry draw the line?
.20 is max tolerance for toe. Set your rear wheels to .16-.22 total toe and fronts to .12 -.16 total toe. That will give good cornering/handling and straight line stability on the highway. Set rear camber to -.8to-1.2 and front camber to half the rear camber. =Good tire wear and handling.
